MONSTER ENERGY TRIUMPH TO MAKE DEBUT AT SPANISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

Following months of testing, training, and preparation, Monster Energy Triumph Racing will make its highly anticipated competitive debut this weekend at round one of the Spanish Motocross Championship. The team’s riders, Mikkel Haarup and Camden McLellan, are both excited to be lining up in Spain with the whole squad focused on making a positive start to the 2024 season at the former GP circuit of Talavera de la Reina. The event in Spain is the first of three pre-season races for Monster Energy Triumph Racing as the team continues it preparations for the 2024 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship.

Mikkel Haarup leads the team into action after recently completing a productive off-season in which he developed and fine-tuned his TF 250-X in readiness for 2024. The experienced Danish racer has full confidence in himself and his new race bike and looks forward to competing against plenty of his MX2 World Championship rivals this weekend in Spain.

Joining Mikkel on the start gate will be his younger teammate, Camden McLellan. After ending the 2023 MX2 World Championship with a series of impressive results, the 19-year-old then adapted quickly to his new Triumph machine over the winter months. Now looking forward to competing in Spain as the event replicates the MXGP format, McLellan is excited and ready to make his Monster Energy Triumph Racing debut.

Mikkel Haarup:

“Our preparation over the last few months has been great and the whole team has done an awesome job. They’ve given me everything I need to be as prepared as possible for the new season and this weekend we will be racing for the first time. I feel really comfortable and confident on the bike and the atmosphere in the team is really positive. I’m really excited to be back behind the gate this weekend and we’ll be up against some other MX2 riders too, so it will be a great test for us to see where we fit in against the other guys. I can’t wait to get the season started this weekend in Spain and I’m really excited to go racing on my new bike.”

Camden McLellan:

“It’s been a great off-season with the team, preparing and testing for the new season, and things are looking really good. Over the last few weeks, we’ve only really made very minor adjustments with the bike and it’s time to go racing! I’m really excited to be lining up and it’s also cool for the fans to see the bike in action and in person. The format of this race in Spain simulates a GP weekend so it’s perfect for the whole team to experience a real racing weekend together for the first time. I know we’ll be dialled, and I can’t thank the team enough for the opportunity they’ve given me.”

Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Racing Team Manager:

“After around 18 months of developing our race bike, the TF 250-X, with Clement Desalle, and then the last four or five with our riders Mikkel and Camden, we are really excited to go racing this weekend. We’ve been riding a lot of laps, testing, and it’s going to be really exciting to see where we’re at. Both riders are young, very professional, and overall, everything has been going really well. This is our first race as a team and we will have the full crew who will be at every GP this year, so it’s the perfect place to learn and fine tune things, if we need to, before the first GP in Argentina."

Clement Desalle – Test Rider and Team Coach:

“It will be great to see the bike behind the gate next weekend, and soon behind the gate for the first GP in Argentina. I’m excited to see how the bike and riders will feel in a race after a lot of time testing and training. The team and Triumph have done an amazing job to prepare for the season and now it is all coming together. Also, after being at the training tracks this winter, working with the riders and the team, I have to say I have a good feeling when I see them riding the bike. These pre-season races are good for the riders and team to use as training and adapt, if necessary, a few things before the MX2 World Championship starts. I feel happy to see the bike and riders doing good, on a bike that I was working on for many hours to develop. Now it’s over to the riders to put everything together at the races.”
